Does anyone know what type (foxtail, setaria etc...) of millet supermarket brands like arrowhead mills and nuts.com millet flours are from? Also, has anyone ever harvested millet with traditional methods, i.e. with baskets?

I am curious as well, being motivated by a severely restricted diet and sticker shock at the specialty gluten free grain prices. I just broadcast an area with organic buckwheat and sorghum from seeds from the bulk bin. I had tested these for germination in a glass of water on the windowsill. I like these grains as well; if I ever could have wheat and such again I'd still eat these.

Millet seeds are available in several different types, so says the internet. Biointensive gardening links have a bit on backyard scale grain growing and harvesting that I find credible. Good luck.
