I have a compost pail that I was hoping to take out every day. Well...this hasn't happened. I am probably taking it out every 5 days :hide As you can imagine, it is very moldy.

Is this o.k. to still put into my compost bin?

Sure, that's just another form of first stage composting. In fact the mold may act as an innoculant to speed up the process in your compost pile.

Coffee grounds seem to mold the fastest. I guess because they are damp when they go in the bucket. If I forget to empty mine the fruit flies remind me. :barnie
