My yellow crookneck squash has developed a fuzzy black mold that has claimed 3 squash before they were close to good picking size. How can I get rid of it organically. I cut and tossed (quite literally) they ones affected and a lot of blossoms have had to get snipped because of it too

What I've done is wipe the mold off with a rag. Spray a light water/bleach mixture and wipe again. Of course, that suggests all squash I harvest are peeled or the shells not eaten.

I would spray nearby squash as well and wipe. Often you will find a small bruise at the worst of the mold that explains the why of it.

I'll have to wait till later to trim more leaves off, my plants are surrounded by bees at the moment I trimmed some off yesterday but I know it needs more. As for using bleach and not eating the skins I'd probably forget since I like the skin. It'll be a couple weeks till I can get my hands on limestone to add to the SBG

Do you have access to essential oils? The good stuff - 'therapeutic grade'?
Young Living has one called Thieves that might be useful? And would be safe if you ate it (although the taste might be a bit if a shock).
