On Tuesday April 31 I gave this hen 15 eggs, just marked them and let her incubate with the flock. About a week later, one egg just disappeared. No idea what happened. That left her with 14.
This past Monday morning (about 30 hours early) she had at least three chicks. I left her alone so I have no idea how many she actually had hiding under her. Shes still on the nest this morning (Wednesday) but I carefully lifted her up to check under her. Two chicks fell out from under her wings so if you lift a broody be very careful how you do it.
One egg is left, which means she hatched 13 chicks. This photo only shows 10 but its the best I could do while trying to keep the broody from jumping back in the nest.
