We watch no TV but we do watch movies, we have a great library, we have favorites we watch again and again.

We watch movies wifey and I to see if they can be added to our repertoire, most are not suitable for the girls to watch even those with a favorable rating.

It's a shame improper scenes and language to otherwise good movies.

Do you also find this true?

Now have you found any good movies lately?

Thank you

Richard

it's very hard to find good movies where there's no language and everybody keeps their clothes on. I'm sure I've seen some, because we didn't do tv when the boys were growing up, we just watched movies like you are doing.

One of my complaints is that there are so few intelligent clean movies. It seems that if they are suitable for kids they are so insipid or ludicrous that they are unwatchable.

One of my favorite cowboy movies is Conagher, with Sam Elliot and his real life wife....um....whatsername. I can't remember it, Kate something? Anyway it's pretty clean with a good message about honesty and hard work.

Just a caveat about Sam Elliot, he lost my admiration after I saw him in other movies playing despicable characters.

This is a good resource I use to get reviews on the content of movies, particularly for the kids. Their reviews will let you know ahead of time if there is any questionable content like cursing, nudity, innuendos, etc.

Just type in the name of the movie you're considering watching in the search box and it will pull up reviews for you to read.

It has been so long since spouse and I have seen a movie, I wouldn't know where to begin recommending anything. What few movies I did see were a while back and mostly grandchild/Disney type movies.

The older I get and the more my eyes are opened by the Holy Spirit, I see those old family type movies in a new light and the newer movies for exactly what they are. It's really hard to recommend much of anything that I would consider safe for children, not even some that are deemed "Christian" movies...they all seem to have a not so hidden message, especially if produced in Hollyweird.

We didn't have TV either and had a whole library of movies I thought were good for children...some were, most were not after I look at them in hindsight. The ones I watched with them as teens and thought were "okay" are definitely not when I review them now....in the first scene or two I stop it and want to bang my head against that wall that I actually used to enjoy those kind of movies~even thought they were funny~ and let my teenage boys watch them. I was stupid then...getting smarter now..just a little.

I like Courageous, Flywheel, Facing the Giants, but some of the others deemed "Christian" movies have messages I wouldn't want my kids to see.
