Do you think it was from the heat? They are on the small side, but edible, and oh so good! I need to plant them earlier next year, I think.

I've had that happen- and just assumed it was because I had left them for too long...Since they were small, in your case, I bet it was the heat. How did you prepare the cabbage?

I am going to make slaw with what I harvested last, but we also like it cooked in a little water, bacon drippings and lots of pepper. Kinda old fashioned, but occasionally I cook a supper with old "farmer" type food: fried potatoes (with onions), ham and cabbage.

Have you tried it in a stir fry with onions, bell pepper, and mushrooms on a bed of rice with soy sauce? So delicious! I've been on a bit of a cabbage kick this year myself, I should've planted some.
