My Fire Island Hosta

Here are what my Fire Island Hosta look like. They are growing nicely but still small. The descriptions says they should grow to 10-14" tall and 13-15" wide. As you can see they are about the size of my hand now. The wild violets in the bed have larger leaves. And if I am not careful Thistle's lamium (sp?) is going to crowd them out! You can just make out the red stem. So glad that Nyboy pointed them out. LOL

Carol I find hostas stay same size, but then come back much bigger the following spring. I am hoping with larger size more red stems.

Those look good Carol! Mine is a wee bit droopy, but the poor thing just hasn't realized it went to TexasHostaHell yet!

Mine are looking pretty much like Carol's. Still small and getting their bottom growth going before fall. I think I read that they were a mid-sized hosta rather than a mini, so watch out for next year.

That is what we are hoping! It looked like red stems meeting the light yellow green leaves for a pretty contrast.
