Here are what my Fire Island Hosta look like. They are growing nicely but still small. The descriptions says they should grow to 10-14" tall and 13-15" wide. As you can see they are about the size of my hand now. The wild violets in the bed have larger leaves. o_O And if I am not careful Thistle's lamium (sp?) is going to crowd them out! You can just make out the red stem. So glad that Nyboy pointed them out. ;) LOL

Mine are looking pretty much like Carol's. Still small and getting their bottom growth going before fall. I think I read that they were a mid-sized hosta rather than a mini, so watch out for next year.

So is the red supposed to go all the way up to the leaf? I like the contrasting colors.

That is what we are hoping! It looked like red stems meeting the light yellow green leaves for a pretty contrast.
