LilyBear, my lynx point Ragdoll cat is going to the vet this morning. Last night she had a BIG accident all over her white fluffy fur- but the problem is that is was all sticky blood. She got a good bath that was not very easy to do. Now this morning she came into our bedroom and vomited blood all over my white carpet :sick But the strangest thing is, she acts perfectly fine. She's playing and running around and eating. I'm not sure what is wrong with her, but hopefully the vet can figure it out!

Imagine trying to give this fluff ball a bath!

I sure hope she's going to be alright!

Cats and dogs will sometimes pretend to be fine and healthy even if they are sick or hurt. Peeper won't admit he has a sore claw.

Your cat is very beautiful, glamorous, and elegant. Clevland just came and sat on my lap...kinda hard typin...

Thank you for all of your kind words. She's a strictly indoor cat, and to be honest doesn't really have any "natural instincts". She's kind of dopey...

The vet did not find any parasites. What she has come up with is that LilyBear has a very sensitive stomach and has an abnormally high amount of acid in her gastrointestinal juices- she basically has severe acid reflux. She is on a very bland (and expensive!) diet, 3 different medications, and Prilosec. She has to be on the bland food diet and Prilosec the rest of her life, but the 3 meds she is on is to quickly lower her acid levels so she doesn't get a deadly ulcer and will be off of them in a couple days. As if she wasn't spoiled before! But at least now she can't have any treats or table scraps. Our other cat Lucy is on holistic cat food now that isn't cheap, but worth it because they don't shed as bad. Looks like Lucy is getting all the scraps and treats from now on....

I went to town today for some shopping.

My cats got many more pounds of food and supplies than I got. They always do. Even counting the rake I got. 6 bags of kitty litter, 2 bags of dry food, three boxes of meow mix in the plastic cans.

Oh, about people food and cats. That's a basically no no my vet told me. There is a whole list of common people foods that can do terrible things to cats.

Only the smallest teency morsels of people food do my kids ever get. Just enough to let them know I'm not being stingy. And then only rarely.

Things like chocolate and coffee can kill a cat or a dog, dogs especially. Things with onion or garlic can cause a cat's blood to become thin, and not be able to clot.

Basically, cats get cat food, people get people food. I listen to my vet. She saved Peeper's life. What she says, I do.
