I learned something about that Latin phrase, recently. It doesn't quite mean "seize the day," as we so often hear. No, the Encyclopedia Britannica tells us that the English of carpe isn't seize but pluck. Pluck the Day --- as in "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may ..."
Live in the moment and, yes, make the most of it. Grasp it as one would the stems of flowers, hmm?
