While I'm here in the hospital, I thought I'd take advantage of the free wi-fi to catch up some reading here on TEG. :D I've been trying to hop on here every so often via my dh's blackberry but 3G is so pathetically SLOW.

Thought I'd share a pic of my new daughter, Savannah Joy. She arrived March 8th at 1:31am, 9lbs. 10oz., 23" long. Unfortunately, she was born with an enlarged heart and a valve problem and they had to take her to another hospital for NICU while I'm stuck here. They'll do a cath procedure on Monday to fix it and the outlook is very good. It was scary there at first, but the LORD was looking out for her and thank God the pediatrician came to see her early and caught it before anything bad happened. They've got her stablized and on oxygen right now, and I get to go see her tomorrow.

Gonna keep the garden small and manageable this year. Still have bees. Gonna get some new chicks in April, but only 4 or 6 for now. Now that my count-down-to-spring baby is here, I'm excited to get my hands back in the dirt again!

Hope you all are doing well. I miss you guys! :)

Wow Journey! So good to hear from you! You've been on my mind lately, and I was wondering when your baby was due.
Sorry to hear of her difficulty, but am rejoicing with you that she's being taken care of so quickly. Boy, you grow 'em big don't you?
She's beautiful, and I love her name. Take good care and please keep in touch!

Congratulations! She is just lovely! Thank goodness for modern medicine- once she is over this bump in the road, all will be well! Joy indeed! I admire you for even imagining a garden. I had a couple porch boxes when my daughter was young! Wishing you and your family all the best- rest up and get ready for spring!!

Wow! I don't know how I missed this thread the 1st thing this morning - guess I was thinking someone was talking about baby bunnies or other critters!

A baby human is ever so much more special, Journey!! The very Best Wishes for her and her family!

Good baby size should really help thru these 1st few days. You did good! (And, that is a beautiful name you decided on.)
