I just finished ordering from Jung.

I am trying to develop my front east facing shade/part sun flower garden. I love annuals but many don't do as well there because of the light conditions. I want to do more perennials so I don't have to grow so many flowers every year and take up valuable vegetable space on the grow carts in the winter/spring. I love annuals because of all the pretty colors and shapes of flowers. I think I will like the perennials I got because the have flowers and colorful leaves.

I ordered 3 Lady Fern plants, a rainbow heuchera offer (1 each of tiramisu, amethyst myst, hercules, and miracle), and a premium hosta offer (1 each of brim cup, June, guacamoe, and fire island).

Am I going to have trouble with the fern being invasive? It says it tolerates partial sun, dry soils, spreads slowly, and doesn't run. I'm not sure what spreads slowly and doesn't run means.

I also ordered a garlic sampler to plant this fall. One each of Grman porcelain, Italian Late, Northern White, and silver rose.

When they say slow, they mean....S...L...O...W... I have had mine for years, and have never noticed them spreading at all!! Not to worry! Sounds like all kinds of fun stuff! You will have a lovely garden!

How did your order from Jung Plants and Seeds go? I just got a catalog from them and the pictured plants look wonderful! I especially love their heucheras -- and I noted you ordered them from Jung. How were the plants? Any problems with Jungs ? Were the plants healthy?

It went well. We order from Jung's quite regularly and have always been pleased with what we get from them. The hostas and heucheras seem to be doing well even though some of thm got beat up from the hail storm a few weeks ago. Alas, I didn't get the ferns planted so they didn't do to well. My fault not Jung's.
