decided to make some stock from the smoked turkey bones today... the one nice thing about making it no directions to follow just dump and pour... the veggie drawer is cleaned out now, just needed to get parsley and kale..had the thyme out in the garden...

I have chicken broth in the crock pot right now, it will be used to make seven quarts of vegetable soup to can. Seems like a good thing to do until the weather warms up a bit next week. It's a little more pleasant outside in the 40's as opposed to the teens, especially with a north wind blowing.

@majorcatfish you could have just thrown cardboard in it. Same flavor, same fiber content... just sayin

sounds like you have personal experience eating cardboard... have you been cutting out all veggie pictures from your catalogs so you can make vegetable soup this winter.....and yes i would bet kale pictures would taste like cardboard, next spring try going to the store and buy the real thing you might be surprised ......

Wife bought it. I grew it. Waste of $$$$, garden space and time. Why not just grow a flavored green that is good?

i'm partial to the canada extra dry diet water we import. 1/2 the calories... same great taste. sometimes for a special treat i add ice-cubes.

as for kale, i hear it's very good deep fried.
