We have had 1 dry day in the last 10, and once again it is pouring! It's driving me crazy because we need to get our new garden plowed up at our farm, and with the amount of rain we've had, there is just no way. And it looks like we're going to get some rain every day for the next 5! :barnie Is anyone else dealing with a deluge??

When I'm complaining about the drought in August, someone needs to smack me!

Yes the rain is just spaced enough so that the soil is too wet to work. We are learning this heavier soil here, and it will be another year or 2 -maybe more before we can naturally make it more porous . Dont want it to dry out too fast, but a happy medium would be nice!

Same problem here, standing water in the back yard. What's even worse is unusually strong wind for this area, it was blowing 80-120 MPH, turning over parked tractor trailers a couple days ago, then the tornado warnings were separate events. At 80+ MPH rain is more like a fire hose than rain, but at least it wasn't hail.

Please, please send rain to Texas. We are in a severe drought and over one million acres burned, state wide. I would be delighted to have some of your rain. Stand out in your yard and make like the big bad wolf and huff and puff and blow the rain to Texas.

I think maybe we stole your rain, baymule! :p

I can't figure out for the life of me how I can live on top of a hill and still have a swamp in my yard....? The flooding is really bad today in the lower areas. We had a brief tornado warning today, but there wasn't much wind compared to what we have had. That wind makes me a nervous wreck.

Crazy weather. Can't do a darn thing about it, so I guess I better just take up some indoor hobbies for now!

Baymule, I think it's so weird how it always seems like, when one area is inundated, there's another that's in a drought.

The worst is going out to the chicken yard. I almost lose my shoes in the mud there. The chickens have pretty much just been sitting in the coop for the past week. :( I'm hoping that the veggies I planted make it through. :fl

Rain gauge readings:

Friday morning - 0.9"
Saturday morning - 1.1"
Sunday morning - 2.4" Neighbors working on repairing our shared private gravel road.

These are daily totals. I dump it every morning.

Mine reads 3" since Friday. Supposed to rain until Thurs. I'll be curious to see what it reads by then.
That's almost the same as our gauge reads. We got 3.25" Friday night, Saturday, and so far today. Although we had about 45 min. of sunshine this after noon it's pouring down again out there. I think the entire state of Ohio is going to mildew or slide off the earth in a glob of mud.
