This is the first year that I can remember when I didn't have to be plowed even once. What a strange winter it's been for us up in the northeast, at least right on the coast. It's snowed, really snowed, only a couple times and both times we had less than 2 inches. I don't mind that at all, as the older I get, the less I like snow. However, I'm wondering how all this will affect gardening this year? The ground will definitely be dryer unless we get some good spring rains as there won't be any melt off here.

We have the same situation here in the South. However, it is really snowing right this minute, for the first time this year. They are not expecting but a couple of inches of accumulation but that's enough. I used to live in Colorado and have seen enough snow to last a lifetime.

We have had a huge influx of people from up North transplanting to our area because they don't want to shovel snow in their retirement years. It's good for us in a way, but I wish they would let us keep our slower, easier way, especially on the Interstates.

I was wondering the same thing - no snow equals no water for wells either. I hope we have a rainy spring - to fill the rain barrels. I don't mind the lack of snow either - hate driving in it.
