So I am pretty sure I have a northern catalpa in my front yard (I know it's a catalpa for sure) we moved in 2 years ago and the tree has been fine but this year there are only buds on 4 our of perhaps 20 plus branches. Any ideas what I should do? We love this tree and want it to survive. Help!

Thanks
Jenna

Welcome to TEG, Jenna :frow!

Catalpa grows here and seems to do just fine but it might help others who actually know something about the tree ;) to know your location.

I usually get myself in trouble when I talk much about trees . . .

If the tree was already old when you moved in remember that catalpas are fast growing but short lived. 25 or 30 years is about it for them but usually there are volunteer seedlings around them ready to take over.

I don't believe the tree is that old.
It isn't that big
