This is a tease because I already know what this plant is ;):

I was surprised to see it show up. A seed source hasn't been around for about 5 years. The seed was just lying in the bricks waiting for the right conditions - up it came!

Despite the demure look to it, this plant is NOT something I want around. I am curious to see if it can survive the winter but if it does . . . it won't get a chance to see another growing season!

Know what it is or like to take a guess??

You are doing good with the direction of your thinking!

Right Lesa, I am not anti-primrose. ♪ ♫ Life's a Holiday on Primrose Lane, Life's a Holiday . . . .♪ ♫

The color, Ridgerunner, is fairly light but the plant is shaded in the picture. Actually, it is heavy shade right there and probably why it didn't grow tall and try to bloom earlier this season.

I think that I would have guessed burdock, Chickie'sMoma. I mean, it looks like burdock to me - it is just that I know what I had around here in a cardboard box for a few months and how many volunteers showed up in the lawn the next year . .

A hint?? Inthefirstlineofthisthread.

DW used it in wreathes a few years ago. It is very pretty . . . and, very dangerous. You can put out an eye!

There may be a few seeds in the back corners of the carport and I'm tracking them out with my shoes. But, I had them scattered about in the lawn where she worked on the wreathes before she gave up and said, "throw these things away!"

A European invasive, teasel really seems to want to displace wild natives out in the countryside. Anywhere there is a little extra soil moisture, they push in.
