Went to buy part of my plants today. Surprised, no price increase. A flat of 12 4-pack is still $10. By going early, quite of few of them had 5 plants instead of 4. 2 of them had 6. I was all smiles on way home. :)

Will be going back when daughter gets out of college. She gets her flat of flowers and I am forced to buy another flat of vegetables. Oh the things I must do for family. This year, I may be forced to buy a flat of perennials as well. I give & I give & I give..........will there be no end????

About 6 years ago I worked ordering/selling plants at a major "box store" nursery. Prices sure have increased. I got sticker shock when I went to buy some shrubs in 1 gallon pots. I bet they were $2 or$3 more than they were back then. This was just for common indian hawthornes, lily of the nile and azaleas. The fancy stuff was even more.

I've also been buying quite a bit from the local nursery, but of course their prices have always been close to double what the big box stores were. But they sell the harder to find varieties. :D
