:barniePassed 2 days I have been going crazy. I am using a new computer and phone system at work. I hate both :he Did not realize phone was cordless, fades in and out not good when talking to client. My old computer deloveped a mind of its own, sometimes it would do what I wanted ,sometimes do what it wanted. My old computer should be ready by mon. The one I am using now I bought cheap at black fri 2 years ago for country house. I can not believe how slow it runs, reminds me of dial up. Also getting hard to go to store to buy a phone, all their inventory is mostly online now a days.

After telling @Ridgerunner , I believe it was, that Windows 10 was no problem once I convinced the PC that it had a CD deck, Microsoft upgraded this summer.

I'm not even sure that I asked for it. Probably. It's not wise for security reasons not to upgrade and it had been about a year of playing with MS10, but ... now, with the upgrade -- my DVD player doesn't recognize what I burn on the PC!!!

I can't find the Panasonic book to see if it has the wrong format! "discerror" it says on the teevee. Argh!

I went back to 8.1 after upgrading to 10 because 10 no loner supported some of the stuff I want to use. I found out the hard way. My brother in law keeps an old computer just so he can play some of the old DOS games. When they upgrade, stuff gets dumped. Old stuff doesn't always work. It's part of the world we live in. You either deal with it or let it drive you bonkers.

Steve, often when stuff like that happens with an online upgrade (DVD player) they fix the problem with the next upgrade. Hope that works for you.

I'm not even sure if I'm burning something with the PC. Is it reading my "burn to disc" program or the DVD when I reinsert it?

I have to get DD to bring her laptop over to try the disc on something other than the DVD player.

Ya know, obsolescence ... Checking online, I found a nasty user comment about MS that they want everyone to use their cloud service and DVD's will go the way of the video cassette. Well okay. But ... but ...

So, we upload to the cloud and then sit down in our living room and watch it on our teevee using its internet connection. Of course, the PC and teevee could be in the same network if I want to use both or archive it in the PC. Yeah. Sheesh!
