boom, chacalaca

Sly and the Family Stone.

Sly Stone is still around, along with lots of Everyday People.

Steve, actually the sound is more like boom, chacalacalaca, but last night my Lenovo flex lap top decided to flip on me, so I had to turn it up sided down and the keyboard was a virtual keyboard, and I was having difficulty with it, so I opted for writing a shortened version of the noise in my head.
Which has nothing to do with tinnitus, just overall frustration of life in general as I age, not so gracefully.

@digitS' Now tell us truthfully . . . did you look that up or did you actually remember that it was Sly and the Family Stone. They crossed my mind when I was trying to remember but others did too.

Of course I looked it up, Smiles! How often do you think I have revelled in music over the last 32 years ;)?

Without looking for it, I wouldn't have known that Sly is still strumming along with us everyday people :)!

My dad was 28 when he went blind and at the sametime lost his hearing where he had to wear a hearing aid. He said he would rather have been blind than lose his hearing. I started getting the crickets and whistling sound a few years ago. I think it is worse when I am tired, or especially if I have not been drinking enough water.

Yeah, I have to look stuff up these days, too, @digitS' . I used to be banned from playing 'name that tune' at neighborhood parties because I could not only name the song quickly but I could also name the singer(s) or group and the year it was made popular. But those days are long gone for me. My recall is fading fast. The mind is a terrible thing to waste ;-)

We used to play "name that tune" at one of my many jobs. My boss, when she didn't know who the singer was, would always say "Elvis." Only occasionally was she right.

Steve, my mumbling spouse (he's always been a quiet speaker) complained that I was always mumbling. My teacher voice is NOT prone to mumbling! Then we got his ears cleaned out. Amazingly, after that I was speaking properly again.

Ouch! That's a double whammy. The blind usually come to depend on hearing for identifying people and placing where they are in a room.
