My doe Rachel came through again yesterday with a nest full of young'uns. It's too cold today to open the nest so I can't get a count but I have at least one more blue. I'll post a picture the first warm day we have.

Congradulations Hoodat, awww...I want one of those blue bunnies! But can't have any more animals. My 6 chickens are enough. :)

Congratulations, Hoodat ! :ya Too cold in BALMY Sandy Egg O ??? Surely you jest ! :hu I always checked on the newborns ( like hundreds of them) even at 17* in N Cal., all you have to do is recover them with mom's pulled fur. So, where are the pictures already ? :caf

Pictures heck! Whenever I start to open the nest it's like popcorn in there. Boy can they jump. I finally got them to hold still long enough for a count. It looks like 8 again, just like her first batch but I have to wait for them to calm down before I'm sure of the count.

You mean the babies are jumping around at 3 days old? I guess I thought they would be more like kittens or puppies. Of course, guinea pig babies are running around and eating solid food as soon as they are born, so I should not be surprised.

Babies that young don't exactly jump around. They just pop straight up into the air like little Jack in the boxes whenever they are disturbed. I guess they hope it's mama bringing them lunch. ;)
