Arrived in yesterdays mail, can not wait to read. America's best private gardens are open certain days for tours. The founder of Garden Conservancy Frank Cabot has his Cold Spring house on tour. Wave Hill in Riverdale was his wife's family estate, they donated to NYC. If you are ever in NYC a visit there is a must!!! The gardens with views of Hudson River is all privately funded.

Are these tours free? This Sunday is the Bringing Back theNative Plants Garden Tour. It's 29 private gardens that are predominately native and drought tolerant plants. They are all over the east bay and they are all free! Last year we were able to see 10 and that was hustling from one to another!

I've heard of Organic Mechanics. Do you know if the garden is in the front or the backyard? Do you need a ticket? I'm writing down the info. I would love to see it and then have lunch afterwards. Thanks for letting me know.

Write up says hidden garden, so I would assume its in back. been on many TV shows and magazines. Also a hummingbird garden they designed it is at Mark Twain Hotel on Taylor Street
