I am SO far behind this year... usually I'm at least whittling down my list by now! ...

Texan ... I love the Red Malabar Spinach! It's a beautiful vine, great in salads and soups! I hear it does great in hot climates, grows very fast! Have you grown it before?

Will have to check out Baker Creek, I don't think I've ever ordered from them but will be looking for some new tomato varieties to try this year ... thanks!

They have a really nice catalog.

I've never seen the Red Malabar Spinach before. I am going to grow it on a 6 ft cyclone fence.

I learned last year that plants that vine are not really that good in my garden because I cant keep up with the weeds and the vines go every where. Maybe on the fence I can control the plant better.

Last year was my first year to garden and I had a lot of success but I had a lot of failures to. The failures were do to my lack of knowledge mostly. It sure is a steep learning curve.

I have seed packs from local stores that I bought last season that I am going to plant this season too. Here they are

Wando Pea
Early White Bush Scallop Squash
Ford Zucchini
Calabacin De Verano (yellow summer squash)
Sweet Bell Pepper Mix
Bloomingdale Long Standing Spinach
Beets

I will do tomatoes again. I like to get those seeds from Tomato Growers Suppy Company

I've taken an interest in hot peppers. Next week I am going to order Bhut Jolikia seeds, 7 Pot, Jalapenos, Red Savina, Habeneros, Banana Peppers and Tabasco

I will be real busy this spring.

I love the Baker Creek catalog....all those beautiful pictures of unusual types of plants. The quotes are interesting, too.

I've rec'd about a dozen nice gardening catalogs in the past few days and am overwhelmed with the possibilities. The only thing that's stopping me from tilling up every square inch of soil and planting some of everything that will grow in this climate is that I would then have to tend and water it all. And I'm not a consistant weeder. :/

Texan - Where'd u get the Bhut Jolikia seed? I am also interested in growing the ghost pepper. I have doing some reading on it. I am not sure I can handle it like a Jalapeno but I think it may make a nice addition to my repitore. Since moving to the south I am finding a love cayenne. Where as in Cali I would never have used it.
