Location
Sierra Nevada mountains, and Nevada high desert
Makes six to seven dozen
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp. milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder

1. Cream butter and sugar; add well-beaten eggs, then milk, flavoring, flour and baking powder. Roll thin and bake in quick oven. (Sprinkle sugar on top.)

Modern-day tips (not part of the original recipe): Refrigerate batter for at least one hour before rolling and cutting cookies. Bake in a quick oven (375°) for approximately 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges begin to brown.

While this may be a great recipe, do not call them "Girl Scout" cookies-or any other charitable organization. You buy cookies from GS to support the girls (I know too much $$ goes to wrong places). Same with Boy Scouts, 4-H, FFA, etc. original? Maybe, more like knock offs. Is a Indian moped same as a Vespa? India (which doesn't honor patents) just tears a Vespa apart and uses their labor, steel, etc to make same thing.

@so lucky Post it as a good recipe. Don't steal GS's thunder. When someone does they devalue a brand that GS have spent time developing and claiming yours is the same is just wrong. At least call it a knock off.

In my fridge just accidentally lying around all the ingredients.
Besides it looks quite traditional. Well, maybe I would not have guessed add milk.
Luckily, the recipe is a little different from the recipe a secret rocket fuel.
And my sons always called any of my cookies - ПЕЧЕНЬКА.
It's slang that respectfully and fun called cookies. Something like this.

What was posted is an almost-Girl Scout Cookie flavored recipe. There is no intention of pushing them off as real Scout cookies. My D-I-L has an almost-Olive Garden minestrone soup recipe that is really close so we can enjoy it at home.

Matching famous recipes is a time honored tradition. I even have a recipe for almost-(original) Twinkie cakes somewhere.
