I am so thrilled I haven't the words. We started planting these trees as twigs, 3 years ago... 2008. So here we have our first season with peaches. I didn't spray, some bugs got some of them and I found a couple on the ground and gave them too the chickens. The only tree to produce this year was the FlavorCrest type.

I am so over the moon to get my first fruit after being patient for sooooooooooooooooooooooo long!

Never had such a feeling of success until I bit into that peach.

I was only able to cover about 8 other peaches that didn't fall off, I ran out of time with the fabric bags this year. However, even the non-covered ones didn't do too badly. Still good enough I can cut the back spots off and get more then 1/2 the peach for canning or freezing. I have to call this year a success! :D

That is quite an accomplishment V! Fruit trees are slow growing and even slower sometimes to produce fruit. after investing the time and space for years it must be very satisfying to finnally get a harvest. It is probably the best peach you have ever seen LOL. CONGRATS

Nothing comes close to the taste of homegrown ones. Our kids helped us start an orchard last year, the trees are growing like crazy, so I am anxiously awaiting the year we get to have fresh peaches!!
