i just read this article about a local gardener/farmer who supplies my local feed store in the spring with their veggie and flower plants. this year he also got them to start selling hydroponic supplies and was teaching people who were interested while they shopped in the store. for the past few years i had been buying most of my plants at the feed store and on weekends would run into him outside checking on the health and well being of the plants or restocking when there would be gaps on the shelves. he would always tell about how he came across a certain variety or why he really likes to grow it. when i'd run into him on those days he would be in a bright orange jump suit-sort of the color of some of the tomatoes he grows!

well, the reason i called him eccentric is sort of explained in the article. he built his own castle many years ago but i have yet to go and visit it even though i've known about it for many years before i actually got to meet Dr. Tomato. if anyone is traveling in the NH seacoast area this is a neat place to visit.
