@canesisters I FOUND IT.... here is my Dad's tried and true Ice-cream recipe. It was FABULOUS when fruit was added. YUM :drool

Dad's Ice-Cream


1 pt. whipping cream
1 pt. 1/2 and 1/2
6 eggs beaten
2 C sugar
1 T salt
2 T vanilla
3 C milk or enough to fill to line in can.
(Fruit may be added.)


Following instructions for your ice-cream churn , turn until stiff.

I think I might try batch of strawberry as a "test" before the weekend.

This is the strawberry 'test batch'. The extra peach is already in the dairy freezer in the barn.
SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD


@Carol Dee - I had to alter the recipe a little. I thawed out a quart of cream and mixed half of that with the eggs and sugar. Heated that to JUST below boiling, then added a pint of strawberries and the rest of the cream. That went into the container of the ice cream maker and I topped it off with milk to bring it to the 'fill' line.
