...you call about said ad and they never call you back.
Doesn't matter if you've sold the item, at least have the courtesy of letting people know that instead of just leaving them hanging as to the status of their call. This attitude is epidemic where I live...if they sold the item, they just stop responding to anymore calls. Irritating, to say the least.
You don't know if they didn't get your call, if they are out of town for a few days, if they had a stroke and went to the hospital...any number of reasons for not returning the call about the sale item. If they don't want to field further calls, the least they can do is put that the item is sold on their outgoing message.
When I put something up for sale, I expect calls on it, even after I've sold it. As such, I respond to numbers that I don't recognize for that simple fact and politely let them know the item is sold. How hard is that to do?
