Horrid, isn't it?!

I've waited 6 weeks before I had the temerity to post a picture of what I found in my shovel as I was excavating from the "stealth compost pit" under the wood deck outside my greenhouse ...

There it is and I will admit it -- I buried some tomato plants that would not fit into the big veggie garden, the garden extension, over the fence in the neighbor's yard - or anywhere else! That was in June!

There were flowers. Some of the plants even had a green tomato or two, by then. The date on the picture is July 23rd. The plant has completely decomposed to something totally unrecognizable. However, the fruit has ripened :eek:. I assume that this is one of my hybrid cherry plants so I didn't save seed to check viability.
