Last Wednesday we think he had a stroke. On Thursday he had an MRI, but they didn't find anything conclusive. No Brain Tumors or inner ear problems. He is not really eating or drinking much yet. Wobbley on his feet. We have to put eye drops in his right eye every couple hours, because he is not blinking his right eye. The right side of his head is "droopy."

This am, he is moving the eyebrow on his right side, sooooo, maybe that is a good sign. I'll keep you posted on how he is doing.

Oh no! Calls for a nice soft bed in the house where he can see you and not be in the middle of everything. He'll heal faster with that special attention. Give him a hug from me!

Sad to have that happen to a friend but the good news is often there can be almost complete recovery from a stroke but it takes time. Keep letting him know he's still part of the family but no excitement. He seems like such a gentle dog from what you have written of him in the past.

This morning he is doing much better, still wobbley, and his face is still droopy on the right. His inner eye lid is beginning to compensate for not being able to really blink correctly in his right eye. That is good.

Yesterday, since he was still refusing water or food, I got an idea... I mixed 50/50 whey and water (I had a bunch of whey from cheese making) He drank that with gusto!! I offered him a small bowl of it every hour or so, and got him rehydrated.

He is eating a bit of roast chicken, and I went and got him some ground lamb. We will have to coax him to eat.
