My daughter planted heirloom red popcorn this year, they are just starting to tassle. It occured to me I didn't know how to dry them for later use. Do I allow them to just die and dry right on the stalk, or remove them from the stock and hang dry the ears?

Sorry, first time worries... I want lots of popcorn to enjoy the rest of the year and wouldn't forgive myself for screwing this up!

When my boys used to plant popcorn we just dried them right on the stalk. Worked great, had lots of fun with that crop!
eta Did you plant the strawberry popcorn?

I actually have no idea... I bought a huge jar of the actual popcorn to eat. Decided to see if it would grow or sprout, and it did!

So its growing, but I'm almost finished with the jar. :p
