The first picking of green beans is here...but we can't find the pressure regulator weight for the canner!!! :barnie :he I ordered one from amazon, but it probably won't get here until Monday. I really, really don't want to blanch and freeze these beans. I will if I have to, then can them later, but they are just not the same.

Anyone near you that you could borrow a canner or a pressure reg. from? You are in a tough place. Hope you find it!

Oh lucky day!! Dew found the regulator...whew. It was right there on the kitchen table, hiding under the dutch oven.

:th I knew I put that regulator IN the water bath canner. I tore the house, and the barn loft looking for that dumb regulator. While I was working at the sports mans club over the weekend Monty canned my beets..... well guess who put the regulator on the table????? :plbb :barnie I was near tears because I thought it was my fault it was missing. :hit :hide
While he is at work tomorrow I will be washing the jars and rings, getting ready for our first harvest of beans. :weee :love

Glad you found it! That is my dread, that the kids will mess with my canner and break or lose something. DD6 is always running off with my lid wand and jar lifter. My pressure canner is over 50 years old. I'm not sure that I could find a new petcock for it. :p

We have another pressure canner, but we can't use it because the gasket is gone. I can't find a replacement either. It's a Steamliner Model A. I wish I had an All American, then I wouldn't have to worry about gaskets :p

Have you tried your county extension service. They offer pressure canner checks here. Maybe they have a source for replacement parts to all models.
