Potato Bugs eating my strawberrys

They are eating on my strawberrys and I was hoping that someone could tell me how to keep them off my berrys. I have straw down under my strawberrys for weeds but think iI saw some thing about that inviting the potato bugs in.

Can you get some food grade diatomacious earth? It is helping keep down my ear wig and pill bug damage. It hasn't totally eliminated it, but I can sure tell where I forgot to sprinkle it
