I have several poted plants that I am wondering how to care for them. They are a Satsuma. an azalea, and kumquat. I was wondering how to feed them. Like do I take out the trees and add new soil? Will that distrub the roots? Do I just add fertilizer/compost on top? I planted them in a potting mix that had like 3/9 months worth of food but that time has passed and I would think that the soil is depleting or depleted.

I have azealas in my yard, they are bushes right? I know they like acidic soil... I don't know how they'll do staying in pots?

And doesn't a kumquat need a trellis? Or is that something else I am thinking about?

I have azeleas in my yard also. But I saw in a magazine about an azelea pruned to look like a tree. I was absolutely beautiful. So I wanted to do that and that is why they are in pots big pots but pots no the less. A kumquat is a citrus tree. They are in pots because I don't have any ground to plant them in and I want to keep them small.
