About 10 years ago a friend tryed sprouting some cranberries. He got lucky and had more then he had space for. He planted 2 seedling in my yard along the street. I never did anything for them, some how they never got mowed with the grass. They grew in to bushes that are now top of my favorites list. I don't understand why people don't plant more of them. In spring they are covered in white flowers, summer they are covered in bright red edible berries then in fall they turn deep bronze color!! They are planted in heavy clay, road salt and NY winters have no effect on them, have never had a problem with pests. For 3 seasons they put on a great show. The only name I got from my friend was American Cranberry. Try this shrub in your garden bet it becomes your favorite too.

Hum-m-m-m! Very interesting.

I grow American High-bush Cranberries - mostly as winter food for the wildlife. I also have tried growing a low-growing groundcover type of cranberry that wasn't successful at that time and I have plans to order one again this year.

It would be well worth it to me to try growing this fruit if I could get more information about it.
