Main issue is whatever heating is used (portable greenhouse heaters, heat mats, etc.) ALL need plug outlets.

Would use mini double greenhouse cold frame (yes it's both) OR lean to. None have plug outlets; don't have space or money for standard greenhouse. Plot is mine; land on it isn't, no permanent changes. Space heater option, but leary cause it emits gases plants are sensitive to.

Was thinking of hot water bottles placed under flats, would be insulated by wrapping in towels. Would this work? How long would they stay hot for? How many for 3' x 3' double greenhouse coldframe?

I would keep all the plants on trays-and just carry them in and out, if there is a freeze warning....

Smiles did some very cold weather heating using an external solar dehydrator.

During some of that time, he was moving water back and forth to keep the greenhouse warm over night:

Smiles' experiences.
