I would like a section where one could post product reviews. Like if I go and buy this pest control stuff somewhere and I find it works for something I have tried a million other things on... I would like to share what it is, what it worked on, how well it worked (if at all) and what it should cost about?!

Customers (happy customers) are the best advertisement.

Plus there are SOOOOOOOOOOo many products out there for gardening, I bet our sheds are full of stuff we'd like to come back and Rant or Rave about!!!

I can think of 3-4 products out I'd like to try... but I would like other people's opinions first. I would like to have a section where we could review these things out on the market pushed on us gardeners.

So who's with me!?!?!?

I think this is a GREAT idea. I hate to buy stuff that doesn't work! I'm in!:p

Preen?! Haven't heard of that yet sounds gross.

I can't think of anything yet, let me go and cruise my "products" shelf down in the basement.

I'll get back to you.

We usually see if people post a lot about a certain thing in the general areas and if there is enough interest we split it into a new category. In the past we've created sections only to find that they weren't being used and then had to remove them and move all the posts into other sections.

I use PREEN every year. I hate to weed and if I get it on soon enough I have no problems. If I wait until weeds start popping up, I have to pull some. What it does is somehow seeds can't germinate. So after you applied it you can only plant bedding plants. Seeds won't work. I am not sure how long it lasts. I only use beding plants.

I used Preen for the first time last year and was very pleased with the results.

I have never used preen either, I do have an SIL who has been using it for years in her flower beds and lanscaping and swears by it. As far as products that work or dont work, let me tell you I am the biggest sucker on earth for buying every gimmick and gadget that come along. DW has been trying to break this habit for years, I have had to start stashing some of the stuff in the garage or shed so she doesnt know. shhh here she comes!

Hi, I wandered over from SS. Regarding Preen, I think it is just Treflan, which farmers use in their fields to prevent certain weeds from germinating. It is approved for lots of vegetables, and can be found in a more generic form, without added fertilizer, at garden centers here in the midwest. I have used it quite a bit in the past. I believe you can also use it along with the larger seeds, such as beans and peas, but not with small seeds. How healthy it is, I do not know.

How long does Preen stay active in the soil? My concern would be that it stopped germination of successively sowed seeds.
