Some of you may remember last year, I built a trellis out of PVC pipe in the front yard. The plan is... that the PVC pipe will be covered by vines at some point this year. The vines I have growing at the base will have both blue and pink trumpet type flowers. Anyhow, that is "the plan", we will see how it turns out.

Here is how it looked yesterday afternoon.

Very soon the Nasturshims will be gone. The weatherman says next week we are to be in the low 90's here!! Nasturshims don't like it that hot!! Not sure what to plant in their place.. maybe Sweet Williams, or Marigolds?

That will look great. An arbor gate at the entrance to a garden makes me think of old times. What kind of vines will you use?

Can't wait to see the "after" pics! Your entrance always reminds me of a storybook garden. Very lovely!

Nasturshims...thats an idea for my "gate". I wonder if they'd make it thru the 100 degrees we get here in the summer. Not every day, like AZ, but it can get hot in Aug and Sept.

What does like the heat here is Clematis. I cover the roots with another perenial. Oh and that pesky trumpet vine. It thrives so yours will too, if it gets enuf water.

One of the vines is a "Three Lobed Morning Glory" it has wonderful blue flowers thoughout the spring and summer.

The other one, I forgot the name of it... It has a sort of deep trumpet, here is a photo of it. I bought the plant back in October of 2009.

There are both types of vines planted on either side of the trellis.
