I started some seeds in seed mix in toilet paper rolls. I put the rolls of dirt inside plastic boxes that strawberries come in from the store and set the plastic boxes in trays. I have been watering by putting water in the tray.

Now I have sprouts with 2 leaves. When should I remove the lids from the plastic strawbeery boxes?

Thanks,
Inchworm

I think you have to open the lid a bit to allow the sprouts to grow and for ventilation purposes.

I have been saving all kinds of take out containers that have clear lids. Even the things the rotteiserie (sp) chickens come in from the store. Plastic salad containers...everything! lol I have quite a selection with seedlings in them now. I wait till they sprout and then vent the lid a little and when they get a good start I open the lid completely.
I told my DH I thought I was going nuts....yesterday I looked at my electric skillet with the glass lid and thought "I could start seeds in there!". NO I DIDN'T DO IT! :lau

Hmmmmmmmmm.......electric skillet huh? lets not be so hasty to dismiss that idea. Container and heat mat all in one. Has a built in top for humidity. :lau Explaining why supper is going to be a few weeks late might be the tricky part.:gig
