While my Dodge 1955 truck is far from finished it will be on the road and drivable next week. I thought it needed a gas pedal guy restoring truck says tiny pedal original to truck. I am having hard time believing this. Anyone remember this type pedal ?

Which one is clutch?

From pix, looks like gas pedal, clutch and brake.

There should be three pedals, gas, brake, and clutch. I'm not sure I'm seeing that. I can't imagine a 1955 truck that was automatic.

I cannot specifically remember that kind of gas pedal but I would not be surprised. Dad was into Ford's not Dodge. Some were pretty small and solid metal. If that were supposed to have some type of cover I'd expect to see some sort of attachment point, like a screw hole.

In the fifties, I had to stand up to drive the Dodge ...

That was out in the field. Doubt if I ever shifted out of first -- just knew to depress the clutch and lift slowly, stop and go. Lean back against the seat to operate gas and clutch, clinging to steering wheel so as not to drop under the dash.

They did make me sit on the floor board when all 4 of us went up to cut firewood - because I was the smallest. Of course, that was at Mom's feet not under the steering wheel.

Good luck with vacuum wipers. Had them on a Rambler. Only worked when engine operating at fast speed. Town driving, worthless....
