Last night the though of another sleepless night put me in a really bad mood. After the repairman left without fixing the furnace I decided to get something to eat. I went to local supermarket in downtown White Plains, the store was very busy which did not help my mood. When i was ready to check out I got lucky at one register there was no line just a very old man. The way he had his cart made it very hard, for me to unload mine, I had to reach over his cart. He started asking the cashier all kinds of questions, this really started to piss me off, I was tired and hungry. His purchase came to $5.78 he put 2 one dollar bills on counter then pulled out a handful of change. He asked the cashier to count out the money he oued from the change. He also ask that she tried not to use the quarters. By this time I was huffing and puffing, the cashier gave me a look like there nothing I can do. Well when all his money was counted he was a $1.90 short. When he told the cashier that was all the money he had he would put something back the words I have a whole pocket of change. Funny thing was I kept meaning to empty my jacket pockets of change. I counted out $1.90 and gave to cashier, He thanked and bless me, then asked if I worked. He said when he worked at Sear he could buy things he needed. He saw someone else thanked me again then went to talk to the person he spoted. I said to cashier this must be the high light of his day. This man not able to pay for food made me realize how good my life is. I quickly went from bad attitude to greatfull attitude.

when i lived alone the trip to the store, library and post-office were my social time.

if i noticed someone behind me getting agitated i'd offer to let them go ahead.

i was in a pretty tired mood yesterday after lunch, we did some shopping and i was cranky and so glad to get home. a few hour nap cleared up the cranky. i really try to not take it out on other people. it's not like they did anything to me anyways. just doesn't seem to make sense anyways with so much other stuff going on in the world.

well, glad you were able to help him out and then get on with your day. :)

I like that.:)

My sister is a great one for paying it forward.
When I visited her last year we were in line at Walmart and a similar thing happened. The lady in front of us was having trouble coming up with the money she owed and was flustered and embarrassed.
My sis told the cashier to just bag her stuff up and combine her bill with ours.
The lady in line was floored that a complete stranger would pay for her groceries like that. My sis told her to just thank the Lord, not her. She was that person herself having trouble making ends meet between paychecks not that long ago.

I think I'll try the bumbling old guy routine at dinner tonight and see if someone will pay for my meal!!!
