radish and lettuce inside

just planted a leaf lettuce and radish seed in a window box inside. hoping for some early salads!

anyone grow veggies inside during the winter?

I start everything inside, but find that the one time I tried lettuce all inside under grow lighting, the leaves weren't very crisp. They were big green luscious leaf type plants, just not much to them. I attributed it to the 65F inside temps night and day, with no wind or mechanical stimulation to encourage a crisper growth.
