Recycled Glass Wall

My wife saw a picture of a wall that was made of colored glass bottles. She has been insisting that I start making one, for her flower garden. She has collected tons of bottles from families and friends, so I guess I need to start on the wall, when the weather warms up. Has anyone taken on a task like this? I am hoping for some tips, and what kind of morter to use.

Glass bottle walls can look really cool. If you are planning to cut the glass at all, I've read that using a tile saw is much easier than a glass cutter. In the pictures here, it appears several different mortar types were successfully used.

I love the look of those glass bottle walls, and actually put it on my wishlist. I have also seen some green homes, that used glass bottles as walls, and it resembled stained glass. I wonder how sturdy these kinds of walls are and what things you can do to prevent weathering.

What an interesting idea. I may have to look into one for a corner of my garden. It would look lovely with the sea glass mosaic tabletop I made for my bistro set there. I have the beginnings of a collection of old bottles that I use for bud vases, but I could start buying more.

This bottle glass wall sounds really pretty. I've seen a home decor magazine that featured a similar wall, but it was inside the house instead of outside. Yours could really be interesting, especially if you're able to find some unusual textures and colors.

I love glass and I've seen pictures of glass walls particularly a gazebo that has recycled glass bottles forming its walls. Awesome effect especially when the sun hits the glass. Were you able to push through with your glass wall project?

That`s a nice idea. this bottle glass wall sounds really pretty. it is very good for inside the home.
