I needed to get some phone numbers ~ but now when you call 411 you get a machine ~ and that Damn machine can't understand what I'm saying ~ so it says : Good by ~ and hangs up on me ```


Have you tried to use 411 lately ?

Haven't found a need to use "information" since smart phones came out, and hardly ever used it at all before that. At one point years back, I remember getting a notice that the phone company was going to start charging for "411" calls, but I never put that to the test. Haven't had to use the Yellow Pages much either, and really don't want to, since you only see listings for those who buy adds... which usually omits businesses I would want to deal with. I can say "find a plumber" to my cell phone, and get a map of every plumber within 10 miles!

Here we are always charged 45 cents for 411. I know what you mean about not getting live person. I called it 2 weeks ago to see if I could get red's number. Does anyone know a site that will give number I have name and address ?

no, all businesses are on-line now and i rarely have to find the number for a person (i'm not much of a phone person in general - i much prefer e-mail).

Try the white pages for her town. Type in what info you have. Name an town required. Good Luck.

When my mom was starting to have some confusion and ...dexterity problems?...I don't know exactly what the reason was, but one time she told me she called a business and they yelled at her and told her to get off the phone.
I couldn't let it go at that, so I did some investigating and found that the number she was dialing was not a working number. There was a recording that said to hang up and try again. She apparently took it personally, lol.
