I just opened my cable bill, over $100 for just cable on 1 tv. I was a teenager when cable first came out, even though it was only a few dollars, they willnt pay for TV.

No, we just have a little antennae unit that sits next to the tv. We get most of the broadcast stations with it. And still there's not too much worthwhile to look at.

The antenna was connected again for a short while about 18 months ago. There was a problem with the cable. It was a surprisingly good picture!

What was it, about 15 years ago when we were in some sort of panic about HD television? I am not much of a teevee person. If DW doesn't care about some show, I don't much care to watch it. Sharing is fun but ...

The value of cable, for me, is mostly the internet service. DW surroundings herself with telephones.

Actually, I'm so tired of Comcast and it's problems, I might decide to go to a disc antenna and back to the telephone company ..! DSL should be okay, right?

DSL is fine, what I have. Only problems are have to be within 4 miles of station and when lines get busy, signal fades in and out.

That's one of the problems with cable internet for me :somad. Sit and watch the little signal icon as it shrinks, is x-ed out, etc.

The other problem is for DW losing the telephone. You kidding me? Technology that is over 100 years old? Cable wires must be right there with the string and two tin cans :tongue.

Finally, what is with some teevee channels having such poor signals. Either cable has it or it doesn't! There's no try ..!

I have no tv.

I saw what tv is about a year ago when i stayed overnight at a motel.

6,000 channels of crap!

One tv show, supposedly one of those reality cop shows, showed a big huge shaved headed cop kicking in the face of a drunk and disorderly woman who probably weighed 95 pounds, and then he kept stomping on her! Afterward he was talking about it and all the other cops made out like he was some kind of a hero.

Most of the other channels were commercials! I mean, the shows were commercials!

And then there was the "summer hairdo" channel!

A ton of channels were blank and only said in black and white words that they were to be paid for by clicking some number and entering a credit card number!

Some channels had a complicated looking graphic in lots of basic colors that directed you to other channels.

There was one channel that had a maury povich show where some woman claimed one guy was the father of her kid, another guy was her live in boyfriend, and another one was her husband. The dna results showed that none of them was the father, and the whole audience jeered the woman all self righteously, tossing not only the first stone, but every stone they could find.

I don't need that kind of tv in my life!

If for some reason I had tv, probably I would block almost every channel. First to go would be all the fox stations, even fox movies and shows. Got to remain unpropagandized in my life. Oh heck, I'd probably just throw the tv away!

I live up in the woods where there are better ways to occupy my life, mind, and time.

TV! ha. It used to be pretty good. Beverly Hillbillies, Alfred Hitchcock hour, Outer Limits, The Munsters, Casper the Friendly Ghost, and Bugs Bunny.

Free TV here. There is nothing on cable that is worth $100 a month to me. Phone company DSL works great here, but every area is different... for internet signal and antennae TV. It's sad that some sports went to cable, but I guess it's more affordable than going to a game.

We got a flat panel indoor antennae, Radio Shack, about $30. We get good reception on about 22 channels... can even watch Andy Griffith, Columbo, Beverly Hillbillies and Alfred Hitchcock ;)... Rockford Files, The Love Boat... all for free...:D
