y strawberry bed has been desperately in need of replanting, I had surgery and am not allowed to do anything but walk around and supervise!! I am not a supervisor :he:he I am a worker bee :mow This is driving me crazy but for the next 4 weeks I cannot participate! My daughter and her husband came to visit and I immediately put them to work. dug up all the plants, refilled the raised beds with compost and replanted. It took half the day, but I hope that I will have strawberries in a few months~

are there companion plants for strawberries?? I have done research but found nothing. These are not everbearing so i would like to incorporate some of the space to double duty. :weight MY SLAVE LABOR is heading home, soon and I would like to be sure that I have gotten everything done for spring. :watering

any suggestions??

Great! So nice that they were willing to help out! I usually see strawberry patches with just strawberries, but maybe someone else has some ideas.... Hope you are back to being a busy bee soon!

i had read somewhere that asparagus was a good thing to companion plant with strawberries. i'm also going to plant borage nearby mine this year. it's supposed to help attract bees to help pollinate them.

My strawberries are a mess. They are under the raspberries, in a box, out of a box, in the ground with weeds. I am trying to decide if I want to weed the area, which I did last year. The whole area was tilled and then planted new strawberries and then weeded and weeded and put down grass clippings, straw and still covered in weeds. I am not sure if I will weed or dig all the strawberries up and till it again and this time plant with newspaper layers. Will I still get strawberries if I replant them? I have both everbearing and June.

I just replanted some strawberries today too! We had some return from last year, but had a lot of bare space so I put about 20 more in to fill in. My beds get pretty full, so I don't think I'd have room for anything else, but I'm interested to see how that works.

Nothing, but a bomb will destroy strawberries in my yard in zone 5B. They should be fine.

I don't know of any companion plants for strawberries, but one year I planted pepper plants amid my strawberries with good results. My only caveat would be to cut off the roots of anything you plant with the strawberries rather than pull them out.
