Sure. It's actually the Earth coming up to the price.

Once it is no longer an exclusive, then there will be "competition." What that means, and since owners have across the industry interests, collusion.

At some point, the price will seem reasonable but that will take several years with inflation and the erosion of the value of $. Both heaven and earth will eventually move because there is institutional resistance to inflation.

Sabadilla dust used to be the answer for hard to kill insects, It was made from ground up sabbadilla lilly seeds but they overharvested and had to close down the market to save the survivors so it's no longer available. It never was cheap because it was hand harvested in the wild.

Too bad some enterprising scientist doesn't come up with a synthetic sabadilla dust. Or clone it.

Sabadilla was the only insecticide I ever saw that killed
squash bugs in every stage of their life..
