I was just given 5 Salal seedlings gropn in small containers. I googled to find out about cultural practices, sun/ shade, soil, etc. and found many contradictions. Has anyone have these and what is you experiences whith them. :caf

I think you mean Salal.

(Salol is some kind of chemical).

You might have gotten some of the contradictions because there are a lot of species within the Salal's Gaultheria Genus.

Do you know which species they are?

I have no idea of what species they are. I was given these 5 3" tall, evergreen plants by a person that dug them out of their back yard. Said that they were native plants ( Washington) with edible berries.
