For the past few days we have been hitting the 90s with a humidity of zilch. A lot of my fall greens are just coming up and they're frying before they get a chance, not to mention the pest insects are loving this weather so my poor pak choy and kailaan are taking a beating. So far my lettuce looks as though it will be Ok but we still have a few more days of this ahead. looks as though I'll have to do a lot of replanting.

Its been 100 up here for three days and at least one more day tomorrow, they say. Forget the garden until this last gasp of indian summer is finished....

So far at least we don't have that dry wind. The police hate when that happens. Spur of the moment crimes of violence go way up. It was only a few years ago they figured out why. The friction of the dust in the winds changes the electrical patterns in the air and basically our nervous system runs on electricity so it goes haywire too.

Hoodat...we are going through a heat wave here in the bay area. It's in the mid-80's today. Will cool back down to 72 in a couple days.

I meant to mention it is that hot in Alameda (coastal). It's higher inland.

Well here in Belize, we are down to about 72 at the moment, but after all the rain we have had this last 10 days or so, the humidity is anywhere between 70 and 80%.

At the moment it's too wet to do much in the garden.

Here too, in Arizona. It's been in the 90s to 100s in the day, but cools down to high 40s at night. The tomatoes finally took off, I am getting a couple dozen a day, and I had planted some fall seeds but had to leave the seedlings with a babysitter for four days and they aren't looking so good right now.
