Seedlings and flowers

I took some pics of the seedling flowerbed in my veggie garden. Here are my brave, beautiful violas. Tiny little plants survived my neglect and bloomed.

Viola lavender The black-eyed Susan flowers are eagerly seeking the sun.

There are many perennial seedlings growing despite the absence of the gardener.
Like my other raised beds, this one is nearly weed-free and the plants are looking good. Poor record keeping here. I figured I'd wait until they flowered so I would know what they were. Next year I will have plants to move into my new perennial gardens. Balloon flower and monarda are two I do recognize.

So this is a nursery bed Red? Did you start those violas and rudbeckia from seed?

Looks nice! Very weed free, my beds hardly wait for me to get in the house before the weeds spring back up.

Yes, I started all the plants from seed in the house (too) early this spring. I thought I'd replanted the last of my seedlings on Sunday . . . until I found two more today. Poor babies! They need their forever home and soon.

The flower bed has my alpine strawberries at the North end. Since I wasn't getting any veggies planted, I stuck most of my seedlings in the bed. Surprise! Most of them grew.

I had spent a lot of time getting the weeds out of the veggie beds. It certainly shows when they can so a month and more without weeding and look that well. Nothing like Preen on them either. Just hard, fun work.

Cuties! I have loads of volunteer pansies in the rocky area near the house. I just can't ever bring myself to pull them, they try so hard to survive.

Yes! A good rainfall on everything. Just what the babies needed. I am not good at remembering to water.
