I did it! I ordered a ton of stuff! Ended up using Parks for veggies/herbs,and Tomato Growers Supply for tomatoes and peppers. Order placed last night (this morning!) at 03:00 am. I probably went way overboard, but hey...it is cheaper than either drugs or therapy, right?;)

So how do you guys pass the time while (not so ) patiently waiting for your seeds???!!!!:barnie

Congrats...hard part over (well, to me, the deciding is always the hard part!!) I got mine in too, just the other day. Wish I had boatloads of money, because I still haven't looked through all my catalogs and my ambitions tend to exceed my budget.

ETA: Passing the time.....I've been working on cataloging the seeds I do have already over the past couple of days. I am entering them into a database...much more fun than it sounds...really! I've got 3 1-gallon ziploc bags full of seeds (flowers and veggies)! My goal is to plant most all of them this year! (Except for some I am saving back for future years.)

:woot ... let the fun begin!

Parks is a scary place for me! I have to take my final list (after throwing the rest of my lists away ... outside!) and use the quick order... check out fast ... and run!

Most of my orders have arrived, I need to organize! ... and have been passing the time by cutting fabric into pieces and sewing them back together ...

YAY SEED ORDERS!!! :weee :ya

I store my seeds in the envelopes they come in in a big plastic bin they are completely a mess and all out of order I just have a huge bin I toss them all in .. I do tape them shut so the seeds do not fall out after I dig into them ....then cool dry place ..(under spare room bed actually works great )

what do I do while waiting ..start some of the things I did not get to last year :throw

or seed trade or clean out my freezer to make room ..

sometimes I get moody and ticked off at the weather! :tongue

There's always the chickens! :ya I am so glad someone asked about storing seed.

Catalogs..yikes! I have to decide on seeds ...or groceries....seeds...groceries......:tongue

This morning the sun was shining...now...as I sit here, there is a weird fog rolling in. What is with that? :pop

However, I did plant some seeds yesterday. That made my day!

I was just thinking...

maybe take yourr idea, tape them shut in their own packets (for easy IDing), and then put them into a large photo album-you know, with the clear sleeves. Instead of photos, packets. Store in a cool dry place. That might work (?):/

As long as it's cool/dry... I keep mine in their packets then put all the packets into a gallon ziploc bag and stick them in the fridge. It makes for a long "winter". I have heard of freezing them too, for much longer storage, although I've never done it.

oooh... seed tape! There's an idea... start creating seed tapes for some of your projects. Like your annuals, or your carrots, or your lettuce. That is what I think I am going to do while I wait on other seeds to come. :happy_flower :happy_flower :happy_flower

Which I am YET to order! :somad

I have my discount list for Gurney's and I've been eye balling Seed Savers Exchange.... I just don't have straight what I want in my budget... what I wouldn't do for an extra $20 this year!
